smileys for OE (I know, I know !)

I know, I know, I know. Outlook Express blows. Graphical smileys and
emoticons blow.

But some of my correspondents enjoy them. Hey, even Thunderbird has them
built in! But for now I'm wedded to OE.

With that out of the way, does anyone know of:
(1) an Outlook Express add-on that makes it easy to insert graphical smileys
(toolbar button, drop down menu of graphical smileys) - adware, spyware,
hijackware FREE??? (that's critical).

(2) a free collection of graphical smileys I can insert in HTML email
manually, using the very cumbersome OE method for embedding graphics in an
email?

Hi !

Thunderbird inserts the text representation of the smiley ( in
characters ). Other TB users and users of OE-QuoteFix are then shown the
appropriate smiley. It does not embed pictures unless a user expressly
inserts an image.

Of course, this is default behaviour I'm talking about and there is an
extension available for TB to allow a user to easily embed a smiley or
graphic of choice in the message. It's called Mailtagger and is
avaialable from http://mailtagger.mozdev.org/

However, for your needs in OE, a program which does embed the smiley as
a picture in Outlook Express is SmaileyXP www.xertia.tk
I have used this earlier before I switched to TB myself

The author says that it can be considered to be the freeware option to
the popular Schmaili www.schmaili.com

Another shareware product, although untested by me is PostSmile
available @ www.postsmile.com

Hope this helps...

Try www.Incredimail.com They have a free version that gives you
plenty of features. It`s setup almost identical to OE, and will import
your address book ect. for you. The free version will give you
everything OE does...........

I've used the freeware vers. of Incredimail as well. Very nice, etc.,
etc., but it has annoying adverts, which can chew up CPU if you're on
an older machine.
