slow scrolling in IE6

Recently the scrolling in ie6 has become jerky and slow to
the point that it takes 3-5 seconds to have either the
up/down arrows or dragging the bar work to move about any
site. Have cleaned out all of the history files and have
changed all of the settings that I know of to no effect.
any ideas?

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
If "Use smooth scrolling" is checked, uncheck it.
If it is unchecked, check it.
