Slow page loads with DSL

I'm using a wireless DSL connection with a fairly new notebook computer.
Page loads used to be lightning fast, but recently I have encountered
problems with some pages loading slowly. The status bar will show that a
page has loaded 100%, however, the browser window will remain completely
white for an extra period time, sometimes 20-30 seconds.

I've tried loading pages at the same time on another computer sharing the
connection, and my notebook is noticeably slower. I have downloaded all
Windows updates and the problem persists. I don't have any clue what the
solution is. Any suggestions???

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
