Slow Loggoff in for Terminal Services

Darren

Some random users are getting an extremely slow logoff
of their Terminal Services session. It takes about a
minute to logoff and then in the event log on the server
the following event is logged:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 9/12/2003
Time: 4:12:39 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: HPFTS
Description:
Windows cannot unload your registry class file. If you
have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated.
Contact your administrator.

DETAIL Access is denied. , Build number ((2195)).

This happens to random users and it may happen to one
user and then they log on again and log off and it does
not happen. I have seen no pattern to when it happens.
True to the event log, their profile is not copied to the
server when slow logoff occurs. I have done research and
every knowledge base article that I have found says to
update to the latest service pack. This server is
running SP4. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs > Change/Remove Programs
and see if Q329170 is listed as an update if it is remove it.

plus

start > run > gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration>
Administrative Template
System > Logon > Maximum retries to unload and update user
profile ... set
enabled and to say 5 ... default if not configured is 60!!

There appears to be a hotfix available from MS (thanks Neo)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;814770

but you will have to telephone MS to order it.
