Slow loading pages

I have WinXP and am using ie 6.0 on a broadband connection
(Roadrunner). On speed tests I routinely download at 3.0
kbps and upload at 360kbps. However, pages or web sites
that I visit load slowly, sometimes it feels like
dialup. Does any have any idea why?

In the Internet Options control panel (Tools=>Internet Options menu) select
the Settings button in the Temporary Internet files section... Select
Automatic...(you probably have a current setting of Never)
On the Advanced tab, under the Security section select the option to Empty
Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed.
