Slipstreaming SP2

Terry Haeber

Hello
I have a question regarding slipstreaming SP2. I have my original XP Home
disc and key and have an Acronis TI disc image as well as regular
incremental back ups. Should I still make an XP slipstreamed copy or would
the disc image suffice?

Thank you

Terry

A slipstreamed XP OS CD and a disk image don't do the same thing. If
you ever need to reinstall clean then a slipstreamed installation CD is
worthwhile.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

I would want to have a slipstreamed installation CD. They are two entirely
different things. Your disk image can put back the installation to the state
it was in when you made the image. If there are problems in that imaged
installation, it will put back the problems. If you want to choose different
options, or if you change hardware, the image can't accomodate such changes;
you need an installation CD for that.

Can someone tell me if you use autostreamer if you can use it with my Dell
XP OEM CD?

Thanks,
Ed.
