Slide Advance Slow

Slide advance slowly when presentation is linked to excel.
Once the presentation has gone through the whole thing,
the responce is normal. I am using PowerPoint 2000. Any
ideas or fix!

This is normal. PowerPoint does some caching as it processes a show for the
first time. When you replay the show, the advantage of the caching is
realized.
