single-click mouse execution

I have Windows XP and a PS/2 regular mouse. Trying to
find where in Windows I can select "open programs with a
single click" as opposed to a double click. Have gone to
control panel and mouse properties but do not find
the "single-click" option.

Open Windows Explorer, select "Folder Options..." from the Tools menu.
On the Generak tab, check on the feature you want...

Control Panel - Folder Options, General page. Select in the bottom one
of the three pairs of buttons
