Hi
A start up problem i hope someone can help with:
When i turned my PC on this morning, the start up process began as normal -
i had a 'Restore It!' window appear as usual, and had the Windows icon appear
with the progress bar shown beneath - but at this point, where it usually
goes to the log in page where i can choose which user will log on, the
monitor goes blank and the 'No Signal' message appears. The PC remains
powered up, but no further signal appears to be making it to the monitor. I
don't think the problem is with the monitor, as up until this point in the
start up process it is functioning without problems, and i have been using it
without any issues for years. Rather, it appears as though Windows is getting
stuck in the start up process itself, and just not progressing beyond a
certain point.
I have made no recent system changes to my PC, the only thing i did
yesterday which i can think might possibly be relevant, was to use the Disk
CleanUp utility on my C: drive to compress old files and create more disk
space. Could this action be responsible for my start up problems?
Any help gratefully appreciated!!
