I'd like to get a signal from my PC at specific time.
At first i think to manage the DTR or RTS signals in the serial port (via a USB to serial adapter, given that no PC has a serial port today). For example i can start at 03:00:00 a terminal emulator that should open a COMx and so set ON the DTR .
When i want to set off the DTR how can i shutdown the terminal emulator via the Task Scheduler at, for example 04:00:00 ?

Thank you for any help

Welcome to the forums :)

There are a few ways you could do this, but the easiest may be to use the "settings" tab on the scheduled task and use the "stop this task if it runs longer than x" option. In your example, you could only allow the task to run for 1 hour before it closes.

Thank You,
nice suggestion.
The problem is that the minimum x is 30min on my Windows10.
It is possible modify it up to a 5min ?

You can type in any time period you'd like, so just type "5 minutes" and it'll work :).
