Shut Down Buttons

Bob

When I first setup Windows XP Pro I had 3 buttons: Shut
Down, Restart, and Stand By on the screen after clicking
the Shut Down button on the "Start Menu". Now I have a
{Shut Down Windows XP} dialog box to shut down Windows XP.
How do I get the 3 buttons back???

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob,

sounds like you've disabled the welcome screen, in which case you'll see the
basic drop down to choose what type of shut down you want.

to get the three buttons back, go to Start --> Control Panel --> Users
Accounts --> Click on the "Change the Way users Log on and Off". Make sure
to check the "User the Welcome screen" checkbox. and apply and ok your
choice.

next time you go to shut down, you'll see the 3 buttons.. a quick trick, if
you press the Alt key on the shutdown screen, you'll see that the standby
button turns into hibernate ;p.. in case you wonder how to get that too.

hope this helps!

Nada...thanks for the quick reply. That was it. I remember
shutting that off now, but didn't think about it changing
the logoff screen.

Have a great evening!!!
