show this folder as an e-mail address book greyed out

Bobby

Hello,

I have a user that cannot pull up any contacts when she clicks the "to"
button. Naturally I thought her contacts folder must not be set to "Show
this folder as an e-mail address book (properties on the "contacts" item in
the folder list OL2002). In the Outlook Address book tab this option is
greyed out and unavailable.

I thought I'd just create another folder w/contacts and import the other
contacts, same problem with the greyed out option.

She says this problem occured after she had a pst problem, going over 2G and
I ran the pst repair utility.

Has anyone ever seen this? Maybe I should just create another profile in
Outlook and trxfr everything.

Thanks for any help!

Bobby

I distributed outlook 2003 to all my workstations in the network and have
the same problem with not seeing the contacts list. Your solution works,
but is there any way to make this change to all the network installations?
I can't find the setting in the maintenance wizard.

In the CMW, it's under the Outlook profile settings. You'd need to roll out
an updated .prf file to update existing profiles.

Hi,
I have only just come in on this problem which I now find I have. Can some
one explain to the novice what the fix is.

Cheers

I presume you mean contacts now appearing in your address book? Choose Tools
| Email Accounts > View or change existing directories or address books. If
the Outlook Address Book isn't present, add it.
