I have a shared folder in my network places. Surprised the heck out of me..
how to I make My Network Places private. I can tell you I was shocked.. I
am the only one who uses my computer. I do however have a unsecured ATT
wireless connection. They tried to give me a secured connection.. and it
would not connect, so I opted for a unsecured, didn't know my computer could
be accessed like this.. is there a way to block people from doing this.. Why
would they want to? Rainy

What's the name of that folder ?

If it's "SharedDocs" then it's a default shared folder in every XP.
Moving or copying a file or folder to Shared Documents makes it
available to everyone who uses your computer (direct or over the
workgroup network). But initially it's empty.

Disable File and Printer sharing in your firewall and/or in your
wireless network connection.
