shadow effect on cell

I received an Excel SS with a cool shadow effect some
cells and I can't figure out how they did it. It's not a
drawing object, so it's not the shadow for objects, and
it's not the border of the cell because when I copy and
paste or drag the cell it doesn't copy the shadow, besides
which there doesn't appear to be any shadow option for
borders under Format. (I don't know who created the SS so
I can't contact the author.)

Anyone know how they achieved this effect?

On the drawing toolbar choose a square, circle, or some
other object. and use cursor to place and size it. Then
at the far right of the drawing toolbar are to green shadow
boxes choose from the options within while your object is
still selected.

Ellen:
I've got Excel 97. Try "Format" "Cells" & click
on "Patterns" tab. Click on the drop down pattern arrow
on the bottom. Some should be there.
