setting up internet connection

hi, I recently upgraded a computer from XP home to XP Pro. Prior to the update, i was able to connect to the internet via a 56K dial up modem. Now after installing XP Pro, i get this, http://www.geocities.com/stfuas_oh/error.JPG when i try to use the new connection wizard. The weird thing about this is that hlaf of option 2 is shaded out while the other half is not. I Need to get the internet working on this computer, and the only way is through dial-up. When the install was performed, i did not format, i just installed "over top".
Any Answers or hints or very much apreciated.

Check device manager to see if there is any conflict for modem.

Alternatively, remove modem driver and re-install it and test again.
