Services Pack 2 - ramifications?

I am running Windows XP pro for ASP.net, slq server and other medium
application development. I also have office 2000 on my system

I have two questions re: Sevice Pack 2

1. I have heard there are problems with installing service pack II....are
there any precautions I need to take or big issues that may come into play
if I activate the service pack?

2. What is the quickest way to get the service pack on my machine....if I do
a windows update it could take forever...is there an easier FTP route or
destination to grab the packe and exe on local machine?

only took 10 days for the disc to get to me from MS. hope that helps

What if my machine - an ibm notepad g40 came with Windows xp pro
installed....is it still possible for me to get a disk?

Yes, you can still get a SP2 disk with XP PRO already installed on your
system. If you want to get an SP2 disk really fast, go to any COMPUSA store
and ask for one from their service department. Its free! Thats how I got
mine.

You can pick up the disk for free at Office Depot, Best Buy, and other
places.
