How do I get rid of this error?

"The following error has occurred while attending to read
the properties for the user,
Administrator; error
The workstation service has not been started"

I am logged on as administrator and No I am not connected
to a network or domain etc...This computer is a stand
alone home computer. Though "Computer Management" I am
trying to change the "Member of "a user, I click on
the "Member of" tab in "User Properties" and I get this
message,

"The following error has occurred while attending to read
the properties for the user,
Administrator; error
The workstation service has not been started"

The same thing happens when I try to change the "Member
of" any other use, let alone any other account. I am aware
that I could use "user accounts" to do this but I still
want to get rid of this error.

How do I start the service that it is prompting me to
start?
"The workstation service has not been started"

I did go to services by going to the run option and
typing services.msc. As I scrolled down, workstation does
not appear, it stops in WMI Performances Adapter. How can
I get workstation to start if it does not appear in the
services menu.

Go to Control Panel - Admin Tools - Services.

Look down for
Workstation
and double click.

Click the 'Start' button there, and also in Startup type be sure you
have 'Automatic', and click Apply
