Service Pack 2

I had to do windows set up again to obtain some registry files that had
disappeared from my computer. I get a message that Windows XP is no longer
up to date. I checked and Ser. Pack 1 is listed. When I try to update to
service pack 2, I get a message that it is already installed. It is not in
add/remove programs. How can I get this to reinstall?

Try Start, Help and Support, Keep your computer up-to-date with
Windows Update.

There is an option to look a History of Updates installed there.

You can opt for a Custom install. Try downloading and installing
and if it fails look in the Event Viewer logs for Error Reports.

Hope this helps.
