Serious driver error reported, now PC is painfully slow to start

Whilst using my PC a few days ago PC started to repond very slowly have 160
gb hard drive. I re booted the pc but would not re load. Run system repair,
Windows regsitered a serious driver error and pc seemed to work as normal. On
next re start and since, the pc is painfully slow to load up
