Send/Receive does not work

I have a desktop that has Windows XP Pro SP2 on it with Outlook 2003
configured to receive POP email. Everything was working great until sometime
yesterday when all of a sudden the Send/Receive button quit being responsive.
When you press it, nothing happens.....no messages, no warning or error
messages....nothing. I went into the Options menu and when I tried to access
the Send/Receive options, again nothing happens. You click on the button
there and there is no response whatsoever. I've tried deleting and
re-creating the user account but that has not helped. I've also done a
"Detect & Repair" with no luck either. What can possbily be my problem and
how can I go about fixing it?

Brian - is this a home computer, or are you on a network? The reason I ask
is that I had something similar happen to me this week as well, and it turned
out to be that I had exceeded my email capacity on the server. When that
happens at my company, nothing works ... you can't send emails, you can't
receive, you are "dead in the water" until you've cleared out some of your
email.

This suggestion is a long-shot, but thought I'd mention it "just in case".

Hope it's helpful!

This computer is on an Active Directory network and the mail quota has not
been met. I may try to just uninstall Outlook and reinstall it to see if
that helps.
