Outlook was working fine. Then, all of a sudden, I get the message don't have the appropriate permission to perform this operation when I do send and receive. What is going on? Thank you for any help that anyone can give!!

I know that I just posted this, and I want to let everyone know what I did since then
My computer came from Dell, about a month ago. So, I called Dell tech support. They had not heard of the problem. We did a few things, and nothing worked. They suggested removing the profile, and redoing it, and see what happens. I haven't done that yet, because I want to save me past email messages first
But, I was able to instead use outlook express. And, I was able to import my address book, and send and receive messages just fine. I asked Dell which program was the best. Said that Outlook because of the calendar and easier to save email messages to disk. But, if not for that, then probably about the same. So, for the time being, I am going to go back to Outlook Express.
Does anyone else know of a reason to use outlook instead of outlook express
Thank you, Maggie

Creating a new profile won't affect your existing messages in any way.

If you have no need of calendaring or the other features Outlook offers,
there's no earthly reason to use it. It's totally up to you and what you
want to do.
