secure websites

Whenever I try to access secure websites i.e. accounts,shopping pages,etc, a message appears telling me that the website is unavailable or that I need to check my browser settings.I have checked my settings and all seems ok,but I stil can't access the site I require.Can anybody advise me as to what I can do to access secure web pages.

Here some information which may assist including some links


In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:

Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll

Also, in IE, click on Help > About Internet Explorer.
Make sure that it lists "Cipher Strength: 128-bit".

If it does not, run windows update and install the latest
version of IE with all the appropriate patches/services
packs.
