Cannot Log In To Secure sites

T

Tammi

I suddenly am unable to log into any secure site (i.e., bank accounts,
portfolios, medical records, hotmail). When I enter my userid and password,
the page appears to load and then stalls.
This is what I've done so far:

Verified the problem is unique to my PC. I can access my accounts from
another PC.
Deleted cache (cookies and Temp files).
Ran MS Antispyware, Adaware, Ewido and McAfee ( 2 minor problems were
detected and fixed).
In Internet Properites>Security,
verified security level was medium,
Advanced verified there is a check before Publisher's Certification
Revocation, Use SSL2.0 and SSL 3.0.
Programs> used the Reset Web settings.
Temporarily disabled Firewalls (although I've had no prior problems)
Restored my PC to a date prior to the problem.
Checked for any MS updates and my PC is current.
I made no software changes and added no programs prior to this problem.

I have no problem accessing any website; I just cannot log in to accounts. I
tried re-installing IE6 in case it was corrupted but I receive a message
that it's already installed.

Please help!

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Press Enter or click OK

I had this problem with a Machine after installing Windows XP SP2, I done a
Complete reinstall (may require SP2 removal first), and after the SP2 was
completely installed I waited for about 4 Minutes and then let the System
Completely Reboot, This took a seemingly lengthy time, but it fixed the
problem and there has been no return of the Problem.
