Hi All,
I have a problem When I try to search for files on my computer it will never
find any files, just folders.
I have even tried searching using the exact file name with and without an
extension but every time it just says
Search is complete. There are no results to display.
For example I have tried searching for *.jpg *.mp3 *.* and it will not
display any results.
If I search for an exact file that I know exists such as thumbs.db it will
not display results.
It seems like it doesn't matter what folder or even hard drive I search for.
I could try to search the entire C: for *.dll and it wont display any
results.
The only results that ever display are the folders not the files. any idea
what the deal is?
Win XP Pro SP3, regular search (not windows desktop search)
I haven't used windows search in a while because I use google desktop but I
need to use windows search to isolate a certain group of files (of the same
file type) so I can move them to a different folder or maybe delete some. I
am positive this has worked in the past so I don't know what the problem
would be.
