Search Companion - What is it set to for default searching?

Can someone please tell me what search companion defaults to for searching if
you do a very basic search? That is you do not select any advanced features?

Does it default to searching "My Computer" or should it default to search
just C:?

I believe it defaults the drive(s) used for the previous search.
