scsi scanner

Boy, I'm lost.

In device mgr, the scsi card is recognized. Also the
system is somehow recognizing my Ricoh IS50 scanner. But
there seems to be no connection.

If I remember correctly in 95 and 98 control panel I had a
scsi icon from which I could select the lun # but in xp
control panel there is no such icon.

How do I make the connection. Ricoh has twain drivers or
software for 95,98 and NT but not for 2000 (isis drivers
are available) and xp is not even listed. What to do?

Hi, Bill.

You need new drivers, probably. Both for the SCSI Host Adapter and for the
scanner, perhaps. WinXP is built on the NT platform, which deals with
hardware much differently from MS-DOS and Win3x/9x/ME. Chances that your
Win9x drivers will work with WinXP are practically zero.

Have you visited the Ricoh website to see what their Tech Support pages say
about using that scanner with WinXP? What is the make and model of the SCSI
card?
