Scroll bar with ie6

My scroll bar advances the screen more than one page at a
time if I select below the slide bar. It advances
approximately 1 3/4 pages instead of one page as in older
versions. I am using Win XP OS and am new to it.
Can you help

If update 824145 is installed it may be the cause.
It can be removed with the Add/Remove applet but you will loose the security
protection.

Workarounds:
Click immediately under the slider.
Drag the slider.
Use the mouse wheel.
Use the Page Down and Page Up keys.
