screensaver password help needed

I would like to set up a screensaver password, but when
I go to control panel, then display, then screensaver,
there is no option to set a screensaver password. The
only option is "on resume, display welcome screen". I'd
really like to password the computer using the
screensaver....need some help!!! I used to use Windows
98, and that had the option to set a password. Is this
not available in Win XP?

This is by design. You need to assign a password to the user account
and this password is used for to lock Windows when the screen saver is
active.

In XP, the "screensaver password" is the account password for the user that
is currently logged on. You can use the "on resume" setting. Or you could
use Windows key + L to lock the work station. That screen uses the Win 2000
logon prompt instead of the welcome screen.
