screen saver password delay

I set the screensaver to start after 1 hour of inactivity, and I
password-protected it. If I start the screensaver manually, then the
password protection does not start before 1 hour of inactivity has passed
(in win 98, password protection was instant). Can I change settings so that
password protection starts as soon as the screen saver starts?

No, not from the preview button. You can run the timer down to a smaller
number or you can password protect your account and hit the windows key + L
and your logon screensaver will eventually come up. To change your logon
