Scheduled Scans Don't Run

I have observed that, on some XP systems, the scheduled
antispyware scan does not run as scheduled (not reported
in the log). They were installed with the default
settings, just like other XP systems. What could cause
this and what is the fix?

Microsoft AntiSpyware "BETA 1" requires that you do all activity such as
running scheduled scans in an Administrator account. Limited user and
multiple user account scanning should arrive in beta 2.

I do run scheduled scans in an Admin account. Sometimes
the scan runs as scheduled, sometimes it doesn't, with no
apparent rhyme or reason or pattern. I've already spent
a lot of time on this. Anybody encounter the same
problem, and was able to fix it? It's been like this
since I installed it, and uninstalling and reinstalling
doesn't work either.

I wouldn't waste time on this unless having the scan happen precisely is
important to you.

If it is, you might try uninstalling, deleting \program files\microsoft
antispyware and all subfolders, and then reinstalling. You will lose access
to all quarantined items, and lose any customized settings, and history
data.
