Scheduled Maintenance Tasks?

Hi, I would like to learn how to schedule maintenance tasks such as Disk
Cleanup and Disk Defrag. I found an article about it here at this website:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/crawford_october08.mspx

However, those methods do not seem to work completely for me. First off,
when I try to schedule the Disk Cleanup task, it works fine up until the
point where I have to select what to clean and then press OK. This obviously
will not work unless I am there to click.

Also, in the disk defrag one, it does work by opening a DOS version of
defrag when scheduled, however it closed automatically by itself after about
10 minutes, and I did not see any progress in the status %... I know how long
this takes so 10 minutes obviously isnt right.

Has anyone else tried to do this as a scheduled task? I would like to
schedule a defrag semi-weekly during the middle of the night so I do not have
to watch it work for hours when I need to use my computer. Is what is
written on this site correct and I am just doing something wrong? Thanks
for your help

Automate Disk Defrag :

If that does not work, two alternate methods:
Kelly :
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm CLick D > Scroll down to Defrag

Doug-Knox:

Disk Cleanup:

The options you need are the "sageset" and "sagerun" but i cant understand them so i
just never tried it.
