Scheduled Tasks

I cannot get any of the following scheduled tasks to run as scheduled or
manually: Tune Up Application Start; Maintenance Scan Disk; Maintenance
Defragment Programs; McAfee Scan for Virus.

Any suggestions?? Even recreated these tasks using the Wizard and they
still don't work.

Are there any error messages in the Task Scheduler log? To view the log, click "View log" option under the "Advanced" menu in Task Scheduler UI.

If they can not be run manually, it is likely that you are trying to run
them while logged-in as a normal user, instead of an administrator. Or, if
logged-in as an administrator, then somehow those specific task have been
locked-out (XP Pro only). Finally, you might have some virus, if somehting
like MaAfee won't run.

If they can be run manually, but not via the scheduler, be aware that the XP
scheduler seems to work only on accounts that have a password.

Every task that does not run states in the log that "The system cannot find
the file specified. Try using the Task page Browse button to locate the
application." I don't know where to begin looking if I go to the Browse
button.

I don't know where to begin looking if I go to the Browse button.

Right-click on a task, and choose Properties. Check if the executable path is valid.
