There is no way "around" not having the correct drivers. Drivers tell an
operating system how to use a particular piece of hardware. In some cases
you can use drivers for an older operating system; i.e., in your case
drivers for XP. On some printer models this works. I've never heard that it
works for scanners but it will cost nothing for you to try. Make a System
Restore point first.

Some people have reported success using VueScan.

VueScan isn't free but there is a trial version so you can see if it works
for you. VueScan is $80, so it might be more cost-effective to purchase a
new scanner.
