Hello Carl,
So the drivers for the scanner could be preventing this.
The error message means that something is preventing the keyboard driver
from releasing to hibernate.
This can be an application.
This can be a driver.
This could be a filter driver.
Can you try uninstalling the scanner driver and software and see it that
resolves the issue?
You can also try msconfig to see and try unchecking the items for startup
to see if one of those is preventing hibernation.
You may also want to look in device manager to see what filter drivers are
hooking the keyboard.
locate the keyboard in device manager, right-click goto properties
Locate details tab select that.
There should be entries for Device Class upper and lower filter drivers as
well as Class Upper and Lower filter drivers
kbdclass is always under Class Upper filter drivers.
What is there? Careful about removing anything here as this can affect
keyboard operation.
Usually there is an app with dependacies on those drivers so the keyboard
may no longer be functional if you remove an item.
