Scanner & Folder Access

Hi all,

I've got WinXP Home German with all latest service packs apart from XP SP2.
I'm trying to install a Mustek BearPaw 1200CU scanner so I downloaded the
drivers from the Mustek site.

The install hangs in the middle. I've noticed that a folder
C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN_32\S6U12K is somehow locked by a process and cannot be
accessed (not even for reading). I suspect this is the problem. I don't know
what processes are locking the folder because I've disconnected the scanner.

Anybody can enlighten me on how to solve this problem?

The problem is not the scanner itself but the folder the installation is
trying to access. I've tried in safe mode but it still remains locked. I
can't find out who's locking the folder.
