scanner compatability with XP

Hi

I have a Dell Dimension 4500 desktop computer with Windows XP. I am having a
problem installing my Visioneer Paperport 3100 flatbed scanner. Actually, it
won't install. I've been up to the Visioneer/Paperport website and
downloaded some drivers from there, but no luck.

Are there some drivers out there, or is this scanner not compatible with
Windows XP? It worked ok when I had Windows ME.

Which means the Windows 2000 driver might work but the OP never
mentioned WHICH drivers he/she tried. If it is a software package
install instead of just a driver, it might check the Windows version and
refuse to install on any that are outside a set range of versions, but
again the OP never mentioned that there was an error during the install
for whatever OS-version drivers he/she tried to use. The Windows ME
(VXD) drivers cannot be used on an NT-based version of Windows. LJ will
need to try the Windows 2000 drivers/software to see if that will work
for him/her.

Yeah... I had a Paperport One Touch and had to get rid of it.... not
compatible with XP... of course, you can create a multi-boot multi-OS
configuration with XP and your old ME, so you could use it in ME still.....
but it doesn't work with XP...
