saving ppt to word with pic/graphical objects

Hi,
Is it possible to save a powerpoint presentation to a word file?
I understand this can be done with SAVE AS ...RTF, but only the characters
(letters and numbers) will be saved, losing any graphs and pictures.
How can these graphical objects be saved also with the rest from the ppt to
word file?

Although your suggestion works perfectly, I've realized that I didn't ask
the right question:
- I don't pretend a snapshot of the slides into Word,
- what I pretend is when "saving as..." to the RTF format, I can also save
the pics/image objects as well.

I understand there is no direct way to do that.

Not AFAIK. You could always use the sent to Word function, then use the Save As
in word to save as an rtf file.

the right question:
- I don't pretend a snapshot of the slides into Word,

No it doesn't. When you send to Word, you get an 5 options on how you want your
graphics, with or without notes, along with the option to either paste or link.

Send to Word sends either PPT slide thumbnails or it sends the outline
(which means all text in the slide placeholders, but not text in manually
created textboxes). There's not a way to send text and images in the manner
you want.

If you want the images as individual files so you can import them into Word one at
a time and position them independently, try saving as HTML from PowerPoint. That
will give you the original images in the folder of HTML stuff that PPT creates.

If you want a single image of each slide w/o all the PPT graphics, just change the
Slide (or title) Master in PowerPoint to eliminate the graphics.

So, probably, only through VBA programming this could be done
automatically...?

I don't care about formatting and styles... just contents.

It seems so. And you'd have to have a good idea of what you want to do with the
graphics in Word before you could program that part, too.

No, it wouldn't do much good. I'm not a Word programmer so there's not much I could do to
help.

Between us, we can help work out how to get your graphics exported from PPT, most likely,
but what happens in Word to reassemble them is a bit outside the scope of this group.

There *are* several very active Word programming groups on this same news server, though.
That's one place to ask this same question.
