Saving or exporting "managed web sites"?

I

Ian Ferrin

Hi,

Under:

internet options/privacy/sites/managed web sites

I've now got quite a collection of blocked sites.

Is there a way to export this list of blocked sites
and then reimport them if I have to reinstall windows?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Ian,

The cookie settings are stored in the registry:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\P3P\History]

Open Regedit and navigate to that location. Backup the key to a REG file and
keep it safe.

Thanks for the amazingly quick response!

I backed up the history location to a reg file.

Forgive my novice question, but, if I have to in the future,
How do I restore/import the reg file back into the registry?

Thanks again,

Ian

Just double-click it and you'll get a dialog box AFAIK.....

When you need to Import the setting to a new PC, right-click the REG file
and choose "Merge". You'll get a dialog similar to this:

Registry Editor
---------------------------
Are you sure you want to add the information in C:\RegVBS\sample.reg to the
registry?
---------------------------
Yes No

Click "Yes"
