Saving Install Settings

AntiSpyware V1.0.509 on Windows XP Home SP2

Every time I run AntiSpyware I get presented with the
Setup Assistant screen and have to run through the 4
steps. This then means that I have no scan or autoloader
schedules set and any other settings have been forgotten.

Has anyone else seen this or is it a bug in the beta
version?

I would try an update install:

control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change,
update.

What OS and version (home, pro?)

Did you install, and are you running, as an administrator? (yes this is
undesirable, but that's how the beta works currently!)

If all of the above are true (?)--consider reinstalling to a new location
outside the \program files tree--perhaps c:\msas, for example. Is there
some third party which is providing write protection to locations within the
\Program files tree?

I was wrong! It did work! There were files left in the
Program Files folder for antispyware. When I erased it
and re-installed evrything was fine. That Windows Install
cleanup is great!

Thanks--I need to remember to tell people to remove that stuff for this
particular symptom.

The Windows Installer cleanup tool is irrelevant to this issue, I believe,
but I'm glad you like it.
