Windows networking (Ethernet & 802.11) doesn't work after first scan/remove!

I installed MS Antispyware beta on my notebook, went thru
the Virus scan process, and then removed all Viruses/
Spyware discovered on my system ... thereafter, my
networking connections - wired and wireless - have
stopped working; i.e. I cannot connect to the Internet or
even my home network & 'network status' says 'Limited or
no connectivity. Have any of you seen this symptom before?
