Runtime Error - Mircosoft Visual C++

Chantal

Hi

I am getting the following error when I open Outlook:

Runtime Error Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Outlook Exe. C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3\Office\OUTLOOK EXE.

The program terminates and when I open it again it works
fine. It is driving me crazy. Has anyone any ideas? I
am running Windows XP with all necessary updates
installed.

Thank you for your time

What addins do you have installed? NNTP for Outlook? If so, contact support
at http://www.mapilab.com/support/ - they have a fix available.

if you aren't using that addin, do you have any others ones installed?

As far as I know I don't have any addins installed. I
installed Outlook as part of Office 2000, have updated
from microsoft website as instructed.

Yes this is the problem you are having. I have tried to get tech support
thru Norton but they say they cannot duplicate the problem. I would go to
there website and submit a ticket for help. If you do it over the e-mail it
is free. Maybe if enough people complain they will come up with a fix.

Are you using multiple users on your system? Does the fault only happen the
first time you open outlook?

Thanks Robert. It seems to vary when it happens, I do
have three users on my system, all family, but sometimes
it happens when we are all logged on and sometimes not.
I will contact Norton.

Thanks once again for your help.

Hey guys!!

there is one and only one fix for this outlook debug error which i have found after a long research and that is:
delete your current mail profile from outlook and configure new one AND YOU ARE DONE!!

the procedure is as follows:
>> go to control panel >> from left side select: classic view
>>double click on mail icon and click on third tab "Show Profiles". >> remove current profile, the one you are using
>> take a backup of your outlook mail data file which is located in below outlook directory.
>> go to this path: C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\ and delete outlook folder from here (xxx is your user name )
>> Now re-create/reconfigure our outlook profile once again by filling up mail settings.

i have tested all these option those didnt worked to resolve this issue:
1. Repair Outlook from file menu bar
2. Repair Microsoft Office using office Installer CD
3. un-install complete office and reboot then re-install office
4. un-installing application/drivers/filters/add-on programs which i installed recently

So, dude's above is the only option to resovle your issue. I will suggest not to waiste time and try this.
