If you can get to a good computer (which I assume that
you can because you are posting) then download this:
http://www.cexx.org/LSPFix.exe

It is available from here:(because you should never
blindly download links from strangers)
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Make sure to grab the text file and give it a read also.

I too have experienced this problem...after running
spyware, my firewall from the SP2 has been disabled. I
would like to know if there is anyway to repair this
problem. Also the system restore function says that it
is unable to restore my CPU to an earlier date. Please
if anyone knows how to fix this. Since my Windows
firewall has been disabled, I am running another type and
it has woorked fine. Why is this spyware attacking so
many of Microsoft's own products???

You have probably removed (perhaps in error, perhaps not) an item from the
networking stack

In XP SP2 this is relatively easy to remedy:

At a command prompt, type:

netsh winsock reset

and hit enter

restart the machine,

You may need to reinstall third-party software which may have used a file
"SPORDER.DLL" which when removed seems to have this effect.

You may be able to get confirmation of what happened either from the
cleaner.log file in the directory the antispyware program is installed in,
or by using the restore from quarantine procedure in the antispyware
product:
Tools, Spyware Scan, Manage Spyware Quarantine.
