Error message

After installing the Antispyware, when starting computer
I receive this error message:

Subjest bar: RUNDLL
Message: Error loading C;\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~\NEWDOT~2.DLL
The specified module could not be found.

Has anyone else received this error message? I'm a
computer novice and would appriacate any feed back from
y'all. After uninstalling the Antispy sftw and useing
the system restore feature the error message no longer
apperared when I restart/boot up my system.

"NEWDOT~2.DLL" or 'newdotnet_(number).dll' is an InternetExplorer Add-on
that allows you to access non-standard domains such as .shop, .med, .mp3,
and it provide search results when an user enters keywords in the address
browser address bar or attempts to resolve a mistaken or non-existing URL.
It is not overtly harmful in intent, but counts as Unsolicited Commercial
Software as it installs behind your back and its purpose is to generate
revenue for its manufacturer.

A very large range of software installs New.Net, including RealOne,
AudioGalaxy, KaZaA, iMesh, Grokster, BearShare, Babylon and Radlight.

AntiSpyware most likely detected this file as a spyware and removed it.
However this spyware probably installed itself into the registry too so that
each time you start windows, the file (or spyware) will automatically be
loaded. Since AntiSpyware removed this file, your computer can't find it and
thus displaying the error message.

What you can do is go to Start -> Run..., then type regedit and click on OK.
Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows ->
CurrentVersion -> Run and delete the entry that links to
C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~\NEWDOT~2.DLL

Also check out the RunOnce folder and HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software ->
Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run

After installing the Antispyware, when starting computer

This is good - it proves to you that MS AntiSpyware has destoyed the
NewDotNet spyware, which can no longer be found when the system attempted to
start it at boot time.

I'm a computer novice and would appriacate
any feed back from y'all.

If you want to stop the message, simply use msconfig and uncheck this item
from the Startup list.

After uninstalling the Antispy sftw and useing
the system restore feature the error message no longer
apperared when I restart/boot up my system.

This means you have re-installed the NewDotNet spyware that MSAS found and
deleted for you.
