Run a DLL as an App Error Message

I get this message at startup.

"Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Plus the usual, "if you are in the middle of
something....information might be lost...please tell
Microsoft about this problem..."

Any idea how to fix it?

Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update
and run them weekly.

wouldn't ever connect to the download site. I scanned
using all those programs, and I still get the error

Ok then go to clean boot troubleshooting. Something is trying to load.
You can check in Msconfig -- Start | Run | Msconfig. Look under the
start up tab for an entry that refers to rundll. Uncheck it. Here are

Also check the run keys in the registry:

Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and
the other variations with run in it.

Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and
variations.

Also you should get Cwshredder. It's a good program. The developer has
stopped work in it but it still is good for a wide range of nasties.
That site is sometimes under attack and unavailable. Google for it and
you should find other sites to get it from.
