Rtvscan.exe process

Dear all,
My Win2000 Server is very slow. I found that Rtvscan use many
cpu resource. Can I stop it by just click the end process in task
manager. And if I want to uninstall this Symantec antivirus, should I
first stop any service in order to uninstall the Syamantec antivirus?
Other than that, any good solution to this problem?

The proper way to stop/disable Symantec Antivirus is to stop the service(s)
for it via the services management snap-in (services.msc). (RTVScan is a
service that should be stopped via the services applet and not an end
process via task manager.)

If the service is running at the time you select to uninstall via add/remove
programs, the uninstaller will stop the service and remove vptray from
memory and then proceed with the uninstall.
