Revolution's Horsepower
<snip>

I was initially disappointed by this, but then I read some comments
about it. I don't remember the technical details, but basically, the
architecture Nintendo is using makes it a lot more powerful than one
might thinkg. You get a lot more "bang for the buck per MHz" than the
others. So comparing MHz to MHz just doesn't make sense.

The Revo should be more than capable of running with vastly improved
graphics compared to the previous generation.

In addition, Nintendo doesn't support HD, and that's where a lot of
the power of the other consoles goes.

"From a texture memory perspective, one texel (texture pixel) is 4
bytes, assuming 32 bit color with no compression. This means theres
room for a million pixels in that memory at one time, or just shy of a
1024x1024 pic. That memory can be manipulated quickly too!"

I still don't have an
x-box, and I've yet to see a game that made me want one.

A while a go I thought I wanted one.....the advertising and reviews some of
its games got proved too tempting in the end...so I bought one. I got Halo
and PGR and a few others that were considered the 'must haves', and nearly
all of them I found a complete turn-off. I enjoyed Jet Set Radio
Future......that was brilliant, and Top-Spin Tennis...but nothing else gave
me any *exclusive* fun. I've played Outrun 2 on a friends machine a lot
since I sold my own Xbox, that was great too. Not enough to make me want
another or any successors though. They'd have to pull something pretty
amazing out of the hat to ever change that. It's just down to taste, in the
end.
