Where do I go to restore a computer to the original factory condition on Windows XP Home Edition?

Insert the recovery cd that was supplied with the computer, reboot, and
follow the on-screen instructions.

Phil, She didn't receive a recovery cd with her computer. It is an
E-machine.

The vendor must provide a method to return the machine to the factory state,
otherwise they are in breach of their agreement with Microsoft AFAIK. If
there is no CD then there must be a hidden partition. Look in the manual
that came with the machine, or if all else fails, contact Emachines.

The oem must provide a way to restore the computer back to factory
condition. The restore in winme you saw must have been a customized version
of help and support. XP has no such thing by default, only system restore,
not factory restore. Most likely xp is on a hidden partition and possibly a
floppy supplied by the oem gets it going. Contact the oem if you need more
help on how to restore their machine.

On Windows ME, in Help and Support Home page you can click on System Restore and it goes to regular restore or factor restore. I thought maybe there was on Windows XP too. Thank you for your help....
Some e-machines come with recovery CDs
