restore notepad

Hi,
I recently had a virus sitting in windows\system32
\notepad.EXE
The only way to remove the virus according to Trend Micro
was to delete the file...all well and good...virus gone
and so is notepad...how do I restore notepad without re-
installing windows?

Do a search for notepad.exe There are likely several copies on your system.
Copy into your c:\windows\system32 directory

Deleting notepad *ought* to restore it from File Protection; if it
doesn't, there ought also to be a copy in C:\Windows - copy that into
system32. Or copy out of the cache directly - from
windows\system32\dllcache\notepad.exe
