Restore/Maximize Problems

I

Ian Finlayson

I just visited a website which changed the size of my
Maximized Browser so it only covers half the screen. It
also popped up a box saying the page was trying to close
my browser and whether or not I wanted it to do this.

Now when I maximize any Browser Window it's only half the
size it should be and when I click on restore it goes back
to covering most of the screen. Can anybody tell me how to
fix this?

I read the dicussion on maximising the screen:

I have exactly the same problem as you now. If you do
find a soloution to the problem, could you email me and
tell me and help me plz

I managed to fix the problem by closing my browser then going to the
Favourites Folder and opening a link. It didn't work the first time but the
second time when I maximised it brought it up to the right size.

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the Windows taskbar and while the window
is maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is
to try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.
