Reset Outlook Profile

Hi,
How would I reset an Outlook profile under the following conditions: network
users using OutlookXP or Outlook2k3 with Exchange 2k and the users have
roaming profiles.
The sledge hammer approach I have used is to recreate the users roaming
profile. This resets the Outlook profile, along with everything else for
that user. So instead, are there specific Outlook profile files within the
roaming profile folder? I've made a few attempts but have not been
successful.
Or is there a completely different approach for this?
Thanks!

What do you mean by "reset an Outlook profile"?

Thanks for the reply.
I would like to delete the profile. Start off with a clean slate. After
deleting the Outlook profile, the network user logs on and starts Outlook.
At that point the Outlook setup wizard starts. The user then has a shiny,
new, uncorrupted profile.

You could write a script that removes the profile's registry key from HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WIndows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles.

Don't you have settings you want the user to have, rather than making them go through the Outlook profile wizard? Microsoft uses text files with a .prf extension and a highly structured format to provide information to OUtlook that enables Outlook to create or modify a mail profile. You can create such .prf files with the Custom Installation Wizard or Custom Maintenance Wizard tools in the Office Resource Kit. For more details, including a variety of .prf deployment methods, read the excellent white paper "Configuring Outlook Profiles by Using a PRF File" at http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?assetid=HA011403051033&QueryID=pHm7c_60I&respos=3

The page at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/olroam.htm includes information on other profile tools and resources.
